What this policy covers
This policy covers the TuneSlider iOS app and the TuneSlider Android app, both
published by an independent developer under the package identifiers
com.damondchoi.TuneSlider-iOS12 / com.damondchoi.tuneslider. Both
apps work identically for privacy purposes: everything below applies to each.
What the app does locally
TuneSlider plays MP3 and M4A audio files that you open — either from the Files app / your device's file picker, or by sharing a file into TuneSlider from another app. A file you open this way is copied into the app's own local storage so you can find and reopen it later; that copy never leaves your device.
The app also remembers, purely on your device:
- Speed, pitch, and fine-tune settings saved per song, restored the next time you open that song
- Songs you've marked as favorites
- Playlists you create, and their contents and order
All of this is stored in a local settings file / local database created the first time you use the feature. Uninstalling the app removes it. A "Reset All Settings" action in the app's Settings screen also clears it on demand.
What we (the developer) collect
Nothing. TuneSlider has no backend server, no account system, and no analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs of any kind. We have no way to see how you use the app, what device you have, what music you listen to, or who you are.
Permissions
iOS: TuneSlider does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, or microphone. It uses background audio (so playback continues after you lock your phone or switch apps) and file access to open the songs you choose. If a future version adds the ability to import songs directly from your Music library, this policy will be updated first, and iOS will ask you to approve that access explicitly at the time.
Android: TuneSlider requests a foreground-service and notification
permission so playback and lock-screen controls keep working while the app is in the
background — the direct Android equivalent of iOS's background audio. It also requests
Android's RECORD_AUDIO permission, which Android requires even just to let
an app read the volume level of its own playback for the on-screen audio
visualizer. TuneSlider never accesses your microphone, and no audio is ever recorded,
analyzed off-device, or transmitted anywhere.
Third parties
The only outside party involved at all is Apple's App Store / Google Play, and only for the ordinary mechanics of distributing and installing a free app (e.g. crash logs Apple or Google may collect at the platform level under their own privacy policies). TuneSlider itself sends nothing to them or anyone else.
Children's privacy
TuneSlider is a general-audience music practice tool, not directed at children, and (per everything above) collects no data from anyone, child or adult.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change and the new version will be posted at this same address. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's App Store / Play Store listing.
